What's a BOPreneur?

A BOPreneur is an entrepreneur focused on improving the lives of the world's poorest people, the 3 billion people who earn less than $3/day, often referred to as the Base of the Pyramid (BOP). This blog will share experiences and opinions about the BOP, entrepreneurship, investing, philanthropy, sustainability, teaching, innovation, design or whatever I feel like (it is my blog, afterall). If you want more, follow me on twitter @BOPreneur.

About Me

Paul
I am an entrepreneur, educational arsonist, instigator and venture gapitalist. I helped start Envirofit International, a company that develops and commercializes environmentally friendly technologies for BOP markets, and which has become a leader in the design and sale of improved cook stoves, working in India and Africa. As a board member, I have advised Envirofit, New Belgium Brewing Co and Inviragen. I teach grad students about innovation and entrepreneurship at Colorado State University and am fortunate to be involved in the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise program (www.csugsse.org) and the International Development Design Summit (www.iddsummit.org). In 2010, I became an advisor to an impact investing firm.
